Developing watershed and rainwater harvesting structures to improve access to water in underserved communities, and promoting organic farming and solar energy to foster climate-resilient livelihoods.
We strengthen local water potential in the states of Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Himachal Pradesh, and Tamil Nadu in partnership with NGOs - MYRADA and BAIF. Through the creation and restoration of water conservation structures like check dams, farm ponds, percolation tanks, recharge structures, and watershed works, in and around Cipla’s manufacturing locations, we aim to improve groundwater recharge and surface water availability.
These efforts are strengthened by active community engagement, with local farmers forming Water User Groups (WUGs) to manage and maintain water structures ensuring long-term ownership and sustainability.
Together, these initiatives enhance resource efficiency, support sustainable livelihoods, and contribute to long‑term environmental resilience in the surrounding communities.

Biodiversity Initiative
In collaboration with the Bombay Natural History Society (BNHS), Cipla Foundation is restoring the Ujjani Wetland, an important bird habitat along the Central Asian Flyway, aligned with Cipla's Biodiversity Policy.
