CARING FOR THE SERIOUSLY ILL

Cipla Palliative Care & Training Centre in Pune continues to offer 24/7 care to patients and families during this challenging time. Stringent safety and hygiene measures have also been put into place.
The Centre has been supporting critical patients through homecare since 14th April 2020.
Our Palliative Care team has been facing every challenge to support patients and their loved ones to battle the fear of COVID infection, anxiety and loneliness with both counselling sessions and diversion activities.

DRIVING HEALTH & HOPE TO HIGH RISK COMMUNITIES IN SOUTH AFRICA

5 Purpose-built containers drive health and hope to communities during this crisis. Under its Sha’p Left initiative, Cipla Foundation has innovatively modelled 5 containers into low-cost clinics and medicine dispensing centres to serve patients. Measure have been taken to direct patients from government health facilities to Foundation’s existing medicine pick-up centers to Decongesting government Centres to support social distancing and patient safety.

Our ethos imbibes in us even in the times of COVID

An excellent self-initiative by an employee in Nepal. On request from a doctor the associate joined the active line of professionals fighting COVID-19. Here’s her story -

Since Dr. Ramesh Chokhani was getting a lot of patients even during the lockdown, he reached out to one of our employees

Ms.Bishakha Subedi (Cipla BFE ) and asked if she could help with counselling on inhaler technique.

Wanting to contribute to the society, Ms Bishakha convinced her family of the safety precautions and humbly accepted, in spite of having a two year old daughter.

She now does daily counselling sessions for 8-10 patients and is helping them with their inhalers. Cipla supported her noble efforts and has provided her safety equipments like mask & gloves. The purpose of committing to caring for patients continues to be the core of everything we do.

Patient Help Videos on Inhalers

Inhalers/ Nasal Sprays are the most important aspect in the management of Asthma, COPD and Allergic Rhinitis. In the times of COVID- 19, physical consultation of patients has been severely affected. Because of which, the doctor/ respiratory counsellor is not able to physically train the patients on the correct usage of inhalers and nasal sprays. We recognized this problem faced by the doctors and patients. To address this problem, we circulated the small videos of ‘How to Use Cipla Inhalers’. These small videos consist of a comprehensive explanation of parts of the inhaler, proper inhaler technique and Do’s and Don’ts of the Inhaler. The doctor will be able to use these videos to efficiently drive the Right inhaler techniques through the digital media to his/ her respective patients. We have addressed an unmet need of providing Inhaler best practices without physical presence. The benefit of these videos will be passed on to over 2000 doctors and countless patients across 9 countries in the Emerging Markets.
